Rune Møberg Jacobsen is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University's Technical Faculty of IT and Design, affiliated with the Human-Centered Computing group and AAU BLUE – Marine & Maritime Research center. His work focuses on human-computer interaction with applications in domestic audio environments and healthcare systems.
His research spans Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, and Spatial Audio, emphasizing sound zone technologies, large language models for data collection, and user experience in real-world settings. He investigates how interactive systems can resolve domestic audio conflicts and enhance healthcare processes through field studies and user-centered design.
Recent publications reveal a clear trajectory toward practical AI applications: sound zone management for personalized home audio, chatbots for survey data collection, and tangible generative AI tools for children's literacy education. His work consistently combines technical innovation with empirical user studies across domestic and medical contexts.
Jacobsen contributes to significant projects including the active Telehealth Care Pathway for chronic pain management after knee replacement and the completed ISOBEL project on interactive sound zones. These initiatives demonstrate his interdisciplinary approach through collaborations with medical professionals, engineers, and industry partners on real-world implementation challenges.
