Anniken Hagelund is a Research Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology and Human Geography at the University of Oslo. Her academic career includes roles at the Institute for Social Research (2010–2015) and Fafo, alongside editorial work for Tidsskrift for samfunnsforsking . She holds a Dr.polit. in Sociology from the University of Oslo (2003). Her research focuses on politics, institutional change, welfare states, migration, and discourse analysis, with notable contributions to understanding migration policy, welfare reform, and media framing of populist movements.
