Prof. Dike van de Mheen is a Full Professor at Tilburg University's Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (Tranzo). She holds expertise in addiction research, public health, and care for vulnerable groups. Her roles include directorships at IVO Addiction Research Institute and professorships at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Maastricht University. She has collaborated with over 75 societal partners via Academic Collaborative Centers.
Education: PhD in Health Sciences from Maastricht University (1998), Mastertrack teaching in Health, Wellbeing & Society.
Research Interests: Focuses on addiction (substances and behaviors), public health policy, and preventive care. Her work integrates co-creation with societal stakeholders.
Recent Articles: Her 2025 studies include systematic reviews on alcohol screening tools and realist evaluations of interventions for older adults. 2024 work includes typology analysis of alcohol abstinence participants and a systematic review on mental health-related sickness absence recurrence.
Grants & Labs: Leads projects like the Recovery Colleges cost-effectiveness study. Active in Tranzo’s interdisciplinary research teams addressing healthcare challenges.
