Albert Brenchat Aguilar is a Lecturer (Teaching) in Contextual Theory at University College London (UCL) The Bartlett School of Architecture , where he also serves as co-Director of Public Programme. Holding a PhD from Birkbeck, University of London (2024), he has held academic roles at UCL since 2016 and previously taught at the Architectural Association of London and University of Greenwich. His research focuses on Tropical Architecture , Waste Ecologies , and Decolonial Practices . He explores intersections between architectural theory, postcolonial studies, and feminist techno-science through publications like 'As Hardly Found: Art and Tropical Architecture' (2025) and 'Wastiary: A Bestiary of Waste' (2023). His work examines non-human agency in design, archival practices in West Africa, and the politics of outsourced academic labor.
