Julius McGee

Julius McGee is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Oregon's College of Arts and Sciences, with joint affiliation in Black Studies. His scholarship examines intersections of social inequality and climate change, including organic farming systems, renewable energy justice, and mass incarceration's environmental impacts.

Research critically analyzes racial capitalism in climate mitigation frameworks and advocates for abolitionist approaches to environmental policy. Recent book projects explore historical connections between slavery and ecological crisis.
