Melanie Mannl is a Senior Lecturer for Voice at the University Mozarteum's School of Music & Art Education and Department of Vocal Studies. A dramatic soprano, she has performed at major European opera houses including Teatro di San Carlo Naples, Hamburg State Opera, and State Theater Oldenburg, specializing in operas by Richard Strauss and Richard Wagner. Studied music pedagogy, musicology, and psychology at University of Munich Studied opera singing at University Mozarteum Salzburg Her research and performance focus spans the Romantic and Modern eras, with extensive concert experience working alongside conductors like Gabriele Ferro and Eliahu Inbal, and orchestras such as the Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic and Munich Symphoniker. She also collaborates with pianists like Gerold Huber as a song interpreter. Prizes in numerous international competitions Mannl has taught at university level since 1998, delivering singing instruction and lecturing on subject didactics and scenic performance. She founded a musical academy in Geretsried (Upper Bavaria) in 2021, serves as a singing teacher at the Tölzer Boys' Choir, and has led soloist classes at the Choir Academy in Dortmund and Theater Hagen. Her pedagogical work emphasizes youth development, with private students frequently participating in the Salzburg Festival. She has also served as vocal coach for opera productions like Martha and conducted international masterclasses, including at the Festival Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg.
