Elizabeth Henderson

Elizabeth Henderson is a faculty member at the School of Music, where she teaches Applied Oboe, coaches the Wilmot Wind Quintet, and instructs in Music Education Methods. She is an active performer and educator in the Greater Rochester Area, with performance experience spanning major orchestras and opera companies across the U.S.

Her primary research and professional interests include music performance, woodwind instrument pedagogy, and reed-making techniques. She maintains a thriving reed business for oboe and English horn while mentoring students nationwide.

Elizabeth has studied under prominent oboists including Martin Schuring, Paige Morgan, Eugene Izotov, and Laura Griffiths. Her performance career includes collaborations with conductors such as Michael Tilson Thomas and Carl St. Clair.

Key affiliations include the San Francisco Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, and Finger Lakes Opera. She also provides music education services through private instruction and public school system engagements.
