Adrienne Weiss, a graduate of Yale, is a Lecturer at the Columbia Film Division, where she has taught Directing Actors for the past eight years. She began her career as a theater director and transitioned to filmmaking, combining her passion for performance and visual storytelling. Her debut feature film, LOVE, LUDLOW, premiered at Sundance 2005 and received critical acclaim for its humanistic approach and innovative storytelling.

As a private directing-actors and script coach, she has worked on high-profile projects such as the Nike webseries Lily V. Margot, and television shows including Ray Donovan and Girls. She also serves as a directing and script consultant for feature films like THE BAD INTENTIONS and MAY IN THE SUMMER.
Her screenwriting projects include FREE, a prison drama slated for her second feature, and an adaptation of Lyudmila Ulitskaya’s novella The Funeral Party. Prior to film, she directed theater productions in New York and co-founded The Sticking Place, collaborating with composer Carter Burwell.
Since 2002, her Buddhist meditation practice has deeply influenced her creative and consulting work.
