Donna Cox serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing Education at Houston Christian University's Linda R. Dunham School of Nursing, teaching core courses including Art and Science of Nursing, Clinical Care of Individuals I, and Care of the Childbearing Family. Her pedagogical focus centers on planning, implementing, and evaluating fundamental healthcare for beginning and obstetric nursing students. Her educational foundation includes: Master of Science in Community Health Nursing (MS) from State University of New York at Binghamton Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from McKendree College, Lebanon, Illinois Associate in Applied Science in Nursing (AAS) from Elizabethtown Community College, Elizabethtown, Kentucky Research examines performance differentials in safe learning environments, particularly how structured clinical settings impact nursing student outcomes in foundational and obstetric care contexts. This work bridges educational theory with practical clinical training methodologies. Professional recognition includes: Nurse Traineeship Award from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Sigma Theta Tau International nursing honor society membership Phi Theta Kappa academic achievement award As Co-chair of the Nursing Faculty Committee and Clinical Instructor, she shapes curriculum development while maintaining active clinical engagement. Additional credentials include Certified MDS Coordinator (RNAC PRI) and Certified Case Manager for Assisted Living Facilities through the Maryland State Board of Nursing. She also volunteers as Chaplain at Harris County Jail's Women's Division and collaborates with her husband Bobby Cox in prison ministry activities through Shady Acres Baptist Church.
