Ziad Al-Ani

Dr. Ziad Al-Ani serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow's School of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing, where he maintains clinical and academic activities at Glasgow Dental Hospital & School. His career spans significant contributions to dental education and temporomandibular disorder research.

Research focuses on two primary domains: Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) and Occlusion, where he investigates biomechanics, pain management, and digital innovations; and Dental Education, specializing in technology-enhanced learning and student-teacher partnerships. His work bridges clinical practice with educational innovation, particularly through digital resource development.

Publications reveal consistent scholarly output since 2007, with recent emphasis on digital dentistry integration (2025), whiplash-associated TMD (2023), and TMJ osteoarthrosis management (2021). Key themes include resolving the occlusion-TMD controversy, advancing splint therapy, and developing evidence-based clinical guidelines.
