Gerard Byrne is an Associate Professor in the Department of Adult Restorative Dentistry at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's College of Dentistry. He is affiliated with the University Dental Associates and holds a BDentSc and MSD from Trinity College (Dublin, Ireland) and Indiana University, respectively. His teaching roles include Course Director for ARD 530 Occlusion and ARD 589 Dental Implantology, alongside clinical and pre-clinical instruction in prosthodontics and temporomandibular disorders. His research focuses on implant biomechanics, dental materials, and evidence-based dentistry. Byrne serves on ADA review panels and as a reviewer for dental journals. His work includes seminal textbooks and peer-reviewed studies on implant outcomes, materials science, and clinical protocols.
