Wendan Shi is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Susan Wakil School of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Sydney, funded by the SOLVE-CHD NHMRC Synergy Grant. She holds a PhD from the University of Sydney and a Master of Health Management from UNSW Sydney. With over 13 years of nursing experience in Australia and China, her research focuses on cardiovascular health, patient education, and digital health interventions, particularly for culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Her research interests include secondary prevention of coronary heart disease, telehealth applications, and culturally adapted health education. She has published 18 peer-reviewed articles (50% as first author) with an H-index of 7 and 170 citations, including top-tier journals like the European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing and Journal of Clinical Nursing. Her work has been recognized with awards such as the 2023 Cardiovascular Nursing Prize and the CSANZ Clinical Development Award.

Wendan actively collaborates internationally and serves on the ACNAP Nominating Committee (2024–2026). She co-supervises a Nursing Honours student and reviews for journals such as the European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing and Western Journal of Nursing Research.
Her current projects include the Heart2Heart randomized controlled trial evaluating a digital peer support app for coronary heart disease patients and studies on telehealth cardiac rehabilitation barriers. She also investigates online health literacy among Chinese immigrants and cultural adaptation of health education materials.
