Dr. Ling Zhang is a Research Associate in the Sydney Nursing School within the University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health. She is affiliated with the Charles Perkins Centre and the China Studies Centre. Her work focuses on improving secondary prevention outcomes for culturally and linguistically diverse cardiac patients through digital health interventions. She leads the SOLVE-CHD project, combining patient insights with data analysis to design tailored information strategies.
Her research emphasizes understanding barriers faced by disadvantaged groups in cardiac care, including those with limited health literacy or non-English proficiency. Key projects include validating cardiac knowledge tools for Chinese immigrants and evaluating mobile health technologies' role in patient education.
Recent grants include the 2025 NSW Statewide Health Literacy Hub grant for post-heart-attack navigation and a 2024 grant on pharmacist-led blood pressure management. She has contributed to over 40 peer-reviewed publications since 2015, addressing topics like telehealth efficacy, cultural adaptation of healthcare materials, and systematic reviews of patient education programs.
