Dr. Yu Jia is a Senior Lecturer at Aston University's School of Engineering and Applied Science within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge's Nanoscience Centre (2014) and a 1st Class Honours MEng in Electromechanical Engineering from the University of Southampton (2010). Her research focuses on nonlinear micro-dynamics, functional nanomaterials, energy harvesting, and smart sensing systems. She has secured £3.8M in research funding as PI/Co-I and contributed to 61 journal articles, 55 conference papers, and 12 patents. Dr. Jia co-founded 8power Ltd, a Cambridge spin-out, and serves as a Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow of HEA, and Convenor of the Energy Harvesting Network.
