Skantzakis Manolis

Dr. Skantzakis Manolis is a physicist and Researcher at the Attosecond Science and Technology Laboratory of the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL-FORTH) in Greece. He specializes in experimental and theoretical aspects of attosecond physics, focusing on ultrafast laser-matter interactions and extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation generation. His work includes developing interferometric polarization gating techniques for EUV continuum generation and pioneering XUV-pump-XUV-probe studies at the attosecond scale.

Research Interests: Attosecond pulse metrology, high-order harmonic generation, laser-aligned molecule spectroscopy, and EUV beamline development. He has pioneered techniques for generating intense circularly polarized EUV radiation with energies up to 400 nJ per pulse - a world record. His work bridges fundamental physics with applied laser technology, enabling studies of electron dynamics at 1-femtosecond resolution.
