Sarah Salway is a Professor of Public Health at the University of Sheffield, affiliated with the School of Sociological Studies, Politics and International Relations. Her research bridges sociology, social policy, and public health, focusing on health inequalities linked to migration, ethnicity, and gender. She uses participatory methods and collaborates with statutory and third-sector organizations globally.

Her work addresses reproductive health and ethical challenges in researching race/ethnicity, with projects in the UK, Pakistan, India, Ghana, and Sri Lanka. Recent studies include intersectional analyses of healthy ageing and maternity care reforms in Punjab. She has secured major grants from NIHR, MRC, and ESRC.
Scientific awards include:
