Dr. Janet E. Perkins is a Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh's School of Social and Political Science, specifically within the Department of Social Anthropology. Her work bridges social anthropology and global health, with a focus on South Asian contexts and broader low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Perkins' research explores themes including:
- Maternal and child healthcare practices
- Biomedical technology social dynamics
- Health market brokerage systems
- Poisoning diagnosis and treatment
- Development policy implementation
