Fenneke Reysoo

Fenneke Reysoo (b. 1957) is a Dutch academic working at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva) since 2000. She focuses on gender and development, with expertise in reproductive rights, sexuality, and agrarian issues.

• Teaches seminars on 'Gender, Culture and Power' (Master's) and 'Gender Transformations: Kinship, Marriage and Property Rights' (Doctorate)
• Led field research in France, Switzerland, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Mexico, Mali, and Burkina Faso

Research Themes: Her work bridges anthropological studies of gender with transnational inequalities, particularly in reproductive health and international adoption. Current projects include:

• ZonMW-funded study on biological mothers in the Netherlands (1997-2008)
