Clémentine Rossier

Clémentine Rossier is a Full Professor at the University of Geneva, where she serves as Director of the Institute of Demography and Socioeconomics (SDS) and Co-Director of the LIVES Swiss Center of Expertise in Life Course Research. She concurrently holds an Associate Researcher position at the National Institute of Demographic Studies (INED) in Paris. Her research program focuses on three interconnected domains:

• Renewing measurement methodologies for evolving reproductive/family practices
• Documenting implications for social and gender inequalities across life courses
• Investigating family ties' contribution to social support systems

She maintains active collaborations with WHO (Geneva), Guttmacher Institute (New York), ISSP (Burkina Faso), APHRC (Kenya), and IHEID (Geneva). Fieldwork spans sub-Saharan Africa (abortion safety, contraception) and Switzerland (egalitarian family structures).

Her recent publications demonstrate strong thematic coherence around reproductive autonomy, contraceptive accessibility, abortion safety metrics, and family dynamics. Methodologically, they emphasize innovative survey designs (e.g., respondent-driven sampling) and interdisciplinary approaches bridging demography, sociology, and public health.
