Fizza Raza is a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Georgia State University. She holds a Master's in Population and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK. Her research focuses on demography and public health, particularly analyzing fertility trends among South Asian populations and diaspora communities in the US. She has worked as a consultant with the World Bank and Population Council of Pakistan, and collaborated with institutions like the University of Cambridge and the Institute of Development and Economic Alternatives in Pakistan.
Her research interests include social demography, global health, maternal and reproductive health, contraception, and education inequality. Courses she has taught include SOCI 312: Population and Society at Texas A&M University (Summer 2021).
Raza’s publications address critical issues such as educational access for disabled children in rural Punjab and contraceptive use policy in Pakistan. Her work bridges demographic analysis with policy recommendations for marginalized communities.
