Ole Kolbjørn Kjørven is an Associate Professor in Religious Education at the University of Inland Norway, affiliated with the Faculty of Teacher Education and Pedagogy and the Department of Social Sciences, Religion and Ethics. He has over 25 years of experience in teacher education, including roles at the University of Southeast Norway, Oslo Met, and Innlandet University College. His teaching focuses on Religious Education (RLE/SRLE) for kindergarten and primary school teacher programs, as well as pedagogical theory and methods at graduate and PhD levels. Education: PhD in Religious Education (MF University of Applied Sciences, 2014) with a thesis on religious literacy among RE teachers. Earlier degrees include a major in Christian Studies (MF University of Applied Sciences, 1999), a minor in History (University of Oslo), and a basic sports science degree (Norwegian School of Sports Sciences). Research Interests : - Religious diversity in schools and communities - Multicultural events (UN days, international festivals) - Non-formal religious education in minority communities - Religious literacy and pedagogical practices - Teacher education for diverse classrooms Key Projects : - FAITHED: Exploring non-formal religious education and religious minorities in Norway - Multicultural events in schools: Participant perspectives - Indigenous participation in multicultural museum events Research Groups : - Education, Values, and Cultural Heritage - Diversity in Education (DivE) Publications focus on youth religious experiences, multicultural festival analysis, and school leadership approaches to diversity. Recent contributions include studies on Catholic youth identity, middle school students' views on religious others, and participatory approaches in multicultural events.
