Gillian Oliver is a Professor in the Department of Human Centred Computing at Monash University. Her expertise spans information management, cybersecurity for marginalized communities, and records management, with a focus on equity and development. She holds a PhD in Information Culture from Monash University, an M.Lib in Library Management from the University of Wales, and a BA (Honours) in Librarianship from the University of North London.
Research Interests: Dr. Oliver’s work addresses information access, data sovereignty, and digital transformation in the Global South. She leads projects like PRO Tic III (Indigenous Data Sovereignty) and Fire to Flourish (sustainable development through tech). Her research integrates ethical design, participatory action, and policy advocacy.
