Stefano COLONNELLO is an Associate Professor of Economic Policy in the Department of Economics at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, a position he has held since November 2022. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor at the same institution from November 2019 to October 2022. He maintains an active external research position as Research Affiliate and Head of the Research Group "Law and Finance" at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) in Germany since March 2020. COLONNELLO's research primarily focuses on Corporate Governance, Financial Intermediation, Labor & Finance, and Macrofinance. His work examines the intersection of financial institutions, corporate governance structures, and regulatory frameworks. He investigates how executive compensation arrangements, banking regulations, and legal institutions affect firm behavior, financial markets, and economic outcomes. His empirical approach combines rigorous econometric methods with deep institutional knowledge of financial systems. His publication record demonstrates consistent output in top finance and economics journals, with a notable concentration on banking regulation, executive compensation, and corporate governance mechanisms. Recent work (2023-2024) shows continued focus on EU banking regulations, housing finance, and risk management frameworks, while maintaining his established research lines in corporate governance. His publications appear in premier outlets including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Accounting & Economics, and Journal of Law & Economics.
