Koch investigates correlations between labor market transformations, firm population dynamics, technological evolution, and demographic change. His projects analyze micro-level data to assess how policies like minimum wage laws affect organizational behavior and workforce adaptation. Recent studies include wage responses to nursing skill shortages and offshoring potentials in German industries.
His research spans economic geography, labor economics, and innovation studies. Key themes include minimum wage impacts, offshoring dynamics, firm growth determinants, and demographic shifts in employment. Publications emphasize empirical analysis using German and European microdata, with methodological contributions to structural change modeling.
Andreas Koch edits the NEP-GEO (New Economic Papers - Economic Geography) report and contributes to ongoing projects like FP7-funded MAPCOMPETE. Contact: +49 7071 9896 12 | andreas.koch@iaw.edu
