Rachel Stewart Martin serves as the Director of Clinics, Externships, and Public Interest at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, where she oversees experiential learning programs and fosters partnerships with public interest organizations. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Domestic Relations. A Mobile, Alabama native, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama before earning her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law in 2013. Her legal career includes litigation of complex domestic relations cases as a partner at Crittenden Partners and leadership roles in Cumberland’s Trial Team, where she competed nationally and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers. Her contributions to legal education and student success have earned accolades such as the 2023 Staff Appreciation Award, recognizing her role in advancing career services and professional development. Dr. Martin’s work emphasizes public interest law, legal education innovation, and domestic relations practice. Her publications include the co-authored legal treatise West’s Alabama Family Law and two peer-reviewed articles in the Cumberland Law Review.
