Kristin Kleber is a Professor of Ancient Near Eastern Studies at the University of Münster since 2020, previously holding the same position at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2015–2020). Her work bridges economic history, legal cuneiform studies, and Achaemenid Empire administration. She leads the ERC-funded project 'Governance in Babylon' (2021–2026) and co-directed the Peshdar Plain Project (2015–2020).

- Economic and social history of first-millennium BCE Babylonia
- Cuneiform legal history and archival practices

Recent Publications focus on taxation mechanisms, temple economies, and Babylonian socio-political networks, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement with archaeology, digital humanities, and economic theory.
