Gay Lynch is an Adjunct Lecturer at Flinders University within the Department of English, Creative Writing & Australian Studies at the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Her work spans essays, novels, academic papers, book reviews, and short stories, focusing on unceded Boonwurrung land narratives and Australian historical contexts.

Her research interests include creative writing, Australian settler history, Irish-Australian diaspora studies, life writing, and nineteenth-century Irish fiction. She actively explores Ngarrindjeri history and culture through collaborative projects with Yunggorendi First Nations Research Centre.
Gay's recent publications focus on short story concatenation, Covid-19 reflections, and ecological themes in journals like TEXT and Meanjin. She has presented at international conferences including the 16th International Conference on the Short Story in English (Singapore, 2023) and the Ubud Writers and Readers’ Festival (2023).
