Matt Hawkins is a Senior Lecturer in Screenwriting and Dramaturgy at Flinders University’s College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. As co-founder of South Australian Playwrights Theatre, he blends academic research with creative practice, producing theatrical and film works that engage audiences globally.
Research interests span screenwriting pedagogy, collaborative creative processes, and cultural storytelling. His theatrical productions like The Deep North and Frank Forbes and the Yahoo Boy explore African-Australian narratives and social commentary, while films such as Isolation and The Shot have been recognized at international festivals.
