King Lu is an Assistant Professor of Film and Media Arts at Temple University, teaching screenwriting. He previously taught at Emerson College. His work focuses on character-driven, Asian American narratives exploring themes of philosophy, social activism, and human behavior. Lu holds a degree from Duke University and an MFA in Film from Columbia University.

His research interests include crafting nuanced stories with digestible themes, blending personal and communal experiences. Notable works include the feature screenplay From June to July and the short film Wanda's Grave (winner of Best Short Film at Golden Door). Currently, he is developing two features: From June to July and Shot Clock, with a proof-of-concept short for the latter in festivals.
