Naren Agrawal is the Benjamin and Mae Swig Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS) at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, where he has served since 1992. He previously held roles as Associate Dean of Faculty (until 2015) and was a visiting professor at The Wharton School (1999-2001) and the Indian School of Business (2004, 2006). His expertise spans supply chain management, service supply chains, and manufacturing competitiveness. Dr. Agrawal earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Banaras Hindu University (India), followed by an M.S. in Management Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Operations and Information Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on optimizing supply chains, inventory systems, and digital advertising strategies. He has published in leading journals such as Harvard Business Review , Operations Research , and Production and Operations Management , and co-edited Retail Supply Chain Management . He serves on editorial boards for Management Science and Production and Operations Management . Awarded the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award (1996–2007) and the Wharton MBA Core Curriculum Teaching Award, he is a three-time recipient of the Breetwor Fellowship. His consulting work spans industries like retail (The Gap, Overstock.com) and high-tech (HP, IBM). He is a Research Faculty Associate at the Retail Workbench, a trustee of Give2Asia, and an INFORMS member.
