Vibhas Madan, PhD, is Professor and Dean of the LeBow College of Business at Drexel University, where he also holds the R. John Chapel, Jr. Dean's Chair. He previously served as interim dean (2019–2020), senior associate dean for academic programs (since 2018), head of the Department of Economics, and founding director of the School of Economics established in 2013. His academic appointment is in the Department of Economics within the LeBow College of Business.
Dr. Madan earned his PhD in Economics from Michigan State University in 1989. His research centers on international trade theory, with a focus on transfer pricing, multinational firms, trade policy, and consumer behavior in pricing strategies. He has published in leading journals such as Canadian Journal of Economics, Review of International Economics, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Product & Brand Management. His work bridges theoretical economic models with practical applications in global business and marketing.
The body of his recent publications shows a consistent trajectory in analyzing how multinational enterprises structure internal trade, respond to tariffs and content restrictions, and strategically use pricing mechanisms.
