Dr. Luu Duc Toan Huynh is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Applied Macroeconomic Analysis at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management. He holds a MSc in Economics from Toulouse School of Economics and a PhD in Finance from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. His research focuses on applied economics, behavioral economics, political economy, and financial economics, with notable work on sanctions' impacts, macroeconomic policy, and climate finance. He is an editor for International Finance and co-editor of Evaluation Review , and has received grants such as the British Academy/Leverhulme Trust Small Research Grant (2023). Dr. Huynh's publications span journals like Economics Letters , Energy Economics , and Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization . His research highlights include analyzing how Russian firms mitigate sanctions via international risk-sharing and evaluating Vietnam's ineffective localized lockdown policies during the pandemic. He also explores the effects of Agent Orange on labor markets and corporate responses to climate concerns. In teaching, he instructs courses on strategic analysis, digital economies, and Python for finance. He actively supervises PhD students in applied and experimental economics. His public engagement includes media contributions on VoxEU.org and LSE Blogs, discussing sanctions' societal impacts and global economic dynamics.
