Rongxin Chen is a Lecturer in Finance at Swansea University's School of Management, appointed in September 2023. He holds a PhD in Finance (2023) and an MSc in Risk & Finance (2019) from the University of Southampton. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). His research focuses on psychological factors influencing financial decision-making, with publications in journals like Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money and International Review of Financial Analysis. He actively supervises PhD candidates in Behavioral Finance, Asset Pricing, and related fields.
Education: PhD Finance (University of Southampton, 2023); MSc Risk & Finance (University of Southampton, 2019).
Research interests include behavioral finance mechanisms, cryptocurrency market dynamics, big data applications in finance, and corporate governance. His recent work explores salience theory and prospect theory in investor behavior, and climate change uncertainty's impact on corporate investment.
He teaches the MN-2066 module on Investments and is a reviewer for the International Journal of Finance & Economics. He collaborates on interdisciplinary projects involving machine learning in financial markets and corporate finance governance.
