Mohammad Mojibul Hoque Mozumder

Dr. Mohammad Mozumder serves as a post-doctoral researcher at Novia University of Applied Sciences' Faculty of Bioeconomy and holds a part-time lecturer position in Natural Resources Management, where he supervises bachelor's and master's students. His research focuses on sustainable aquatic ecosystems in Finland and Bangladesh, emphasizing undervalued fish species utilization and socio-ecological resilience in small-scale fisheries.

Research Focus: His work integrates sustainable fisheries management with socio-ecological resilience, examining climate change adaptation, fisheries governance, and circular bioeconomy models. He investigates debt cycles in Hilsa fisheries, IUU fishing governance, and community-driven management strategies in Bangladesh's river systems, while promoting consumer acceptance of underutilized fish species in Finland.

Advising & Funding: Supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, he mentors students in Natural Resources Management and has taught Biology/Geography at Finnish international schools. His research bridges ecological assessments with socio-economic analyses to develop practical solutions for fisheries sustainability.
