Aet Annist is an Associate Professor of Ethnology at the University of Tartu's Institute of Cultural Studies. Her research focuses on deprivation (social, symbolic, ethnic, and future deprivation), new class relations, and the institutionalization of heritage culture. She has contributed to projects such as the IUT initiative led by UNESCO Chairholder Professor Kuutma and the University of Manchester's PROMISE project.
