Lyndsey Darrow is a Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Public Health, specializing in Environmental Epidemiology with a focus on respiratory disease, pregnancy outcomes, and endocrine function in childhood. Her research is supported by multiple NIH grants (R01AI122266, R01ES028346) and EPA funding (RD834799).
- Ph.D. in Epidemiology, Emory University (2008)
- B.A. in Human Biology, Stanford University (2000)
Dr. Darrow's work examines environmental exposures such as:
- Heat waves and preterm birth
- Antibiotic exposure in relation to asthma
- Air pollution impacts on respiratory health
- Polybrominated flame retardants and thyroid function
- PFOA exposure in West Virginia communities
- Methodological innovations in exposure assessment
Her research output includes extensive publications on air pollution's effects across multiple health domains, with recent emphasis on climate change impacts (heat waves, wildfire smoke) and environmental justice. She collaborates with teams analyzing spatiotemporal exposure patterns using advanced atmospheric and geospatial models.
