Wayne H. Giles

Wayne H. Giles, MD, MS, is Professor and Dean of the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), the only fully accredited school of public health in Illinois. He has held leadership roles in major public health institutions, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where he directed key divisions in chronic disease prevention and population health.

His research focuses on public health, epidemiology, and chronic disease prevention, particularly in the areas of cardiovascular disease, stroke, hypertension, and health disparities among racial and ethnic populations.
