Tanja Wischnewski is a Lecturer and PhD candidate in Philosophy at the University of Hildesheim, focusing on 'Freedom and Dependence.' She is affiliated with the DFG Research Training Group 2477 'Aesthetic Practice' (2022–2025). Her academic journey includes a double master's in Sociology and Aesthetics from Goethe University Frankfurt and EHESS Paris, completed with distinction. She has held roles as a research student and project assistant at Goethe University’s Institute for German Literature and its Didactics.

Research interests span aesthetics, critical theory (Benjamin/Adorno), political philosophy (Arendt), and the interplay of freedom/dependence. Recent work includes lectures on Walter Benjamin’s media anthropology, Simone de Beauvoir’s moral philosophy, and Adorno’s aesthetics.
Teaching includes seminars on Hannah Arendt, Adorno’s aesthetics, and critical theory at the University of Hildesheim and Goethe University. Her 2024 publication in the European Journal of Philosophy critiques Juliane Rebentisch’s engagement with Hannah Arendt.
Funding: DAAD scholarships, ERASMUS+, and the German National Academic Foundation supported her studies.
