Dr. Martina Groß (Adjunct Professor at the University of Hildesheim, Institute for Media, Theatre and Popular Culture) is a scholar at the intersection of theatre studies, cultural studies, and literary historiography. She studied Romance Studies, Comparative Literature, and Theatre, Film, and Media Studies in Paris, Nantes, and Frankfurt am Main, earned her doctorate from Goethe University Frankfurt, and completed her habilitation at the University of Hildesheim in 2024.
Her research focuses on transnational theatre historiography, migration, and cultural mobility, as well as intersections between theory and practice. She has held visiting positions at LMU Munich, the German Historical Institute in Paris, and institutions like Lancaster University. She is co-speaker of the GTW's Theory and Practice Working Group and a member of EASTAP.
