Juliane Rebentisch is a Regular Visiting Professor in the Department of German at Princeton University and Professor of Philosophy and Aesthetics at Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main. She is currently on leave until AY 2025-26. Her research specializes in aesthetics, critical theory, ethics, political philosophy, and contemporary art, with a focus on intersections between these disciplines.
Rebentisch's work explores how aesthetic practices engage with ethical and political dimensions, particularly through examinations of figures like Hannah Arendt. Her research bridges Continental philosophy and art theory to analyze modern cultural phenomena.
Her publications consistently address themes of freedom, plurality, and critique, often examining the relationship between art and democracy across different historical contexts. Recent works demonstrate a deepening engagement with identity politics and social justice.
