Svea Bräunert

Dr. Svea Bräunert is a Research Associate and Co-Project Leader at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences, Department of Design, and is affiliated with the Department of Theatre, Film and Media Studies at the University of Vienna. Her work spans modern and contemporary art, media theory, digital and environmental media, and gender/queer studies.

Education:

• Doctorate in Modern German Literature, Humboldt University of Berlin (2013)

Research Interests:

Her research critically engages with the intersections of art, media, and society. She explores how visual and digital media shape perceptions of war, climate, and migration. Her methodological approaches include aesthetic-artistic research and curatorial practice, often informed by post- and anti-colonial frameworks and queer theory.
