Susan Schuppli is a Professor and Director of the Centre for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her work bridges artistic practice, forensic inquiry, and environmental science, focusing on material evidence of conflict, state violence, and climate change. She holds a PhD in Cultural Studies and Research Architecture from Goldsmiths (2009) and has held roles at Western University (Canada) as Associate Professor and previously as Senior Research Fellow at Forensic Architecture.

Her research explores how materials and media archive histories of violence and environmental harm, such as nuclear accidents, oil spills, and glacial melt. Key projects include HEAR: Himalayan Experiments in Acoustic Research (2021) and COLD POLITICS (2021-22), examining climate justice and thermo-politics. She is Board Chair of Forensic Architecture, an organization specializing in investigative spatial practices for human rights advocacy.
Publications include Material Witness: Media, Forensics, Evidence (MIT Press, 2020) and over 90 works across books, films, and exhibitions. Awards include the 2016 ICP Infinity Award for Research and Critical Writing.
Her advisory work focuses on interdisciplinary research merging spatial, political, and aesthetic inquiries. Projects like LEARNING FROM ICE (2019–21) integrate fieldwork, acoustic sensing, and community engagement to document glacial changes in the Himalayas.
