Sridhar Venkatapuram is an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer in the UK system) at King's College London's Global Health Institute, specializing in global health and philosophy. He holds degrees from Brown University, Harvard, Cambridge, and SOAS. His research bridges health justice, the capabilities approach, and public health ethics, with a focus on equity and social determinants of health.
Education: BA (Brown, 1994), MSc (Harvard, 2000), MPhil (Cambridge, 2004), PhD (Cambridge, 2009).
Research interests include the moral right to health, global justice, and ethics of health economics. He co-edited The Routledge Handbook of Philosophy of Public Health and has advised WHO and global health institutions. Awards include roles on the British Medical Association’s Medical Ethics Committee and the Independent Panel on Global Governance for Health.
Key projects: MSc Global Health & Social Justice (PI), SmartCOVID (PI), and WHO ethics advisory roles. He advocates for person-centered care and has contributed to pandemic response frameworks.
