Jay Drydyk is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Carleton University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. His research spans social and political philosophy, international development ethics, and global justice, with a focus on the capability approach, human rights, and public reason.

His work explores empowerment, displacement ethics, and democratic deliberation. Notable contributions include the Routledge Handbook of Development Ethics (2019) and Displacement by Development: Ethics and Responsibilities (Cambridge, 2011).
