Professor Sonia Massai is a Visiting Professor of Shakespeare & Early Modern Studies at King’s College London’s Department of English, within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. She has held roles including Vice Dean of the Faculty and leads the MA in Early Modern English Literature: Text and Transmission with the British Library. Her research focuses on Shakespearean textual scholarship, performance history, and global adaptations.
Massai’s awards include Italy’s OMRI honor (2018) and FEA fellowship. Her Leverhulme Trust-funded project examines 'Wartime Shakespeare.' She has published extensively, including Shakespeare’s Accents (2020) and edited volumes like Shakespeare and Textual Studies (2015). She engages publicly via BBC Radio and Italian media.
