Dr. Sarah Lewis is a Senior Lecturer in Early Modern English Literature at King’s College London, serving as Interim Director of the London Shakespeare Centre. She specializes in early modern drama, focusing on temporality, gender politics, and family dynamics in literature and performance. Lewis holds a BA from the University of Leeds, an MA from King’s College London, and a PhD funded by the AHRC. Her research explores intersections of time, gender, and performance in Shakespearean works and collaborates with institutions like Shakespeare’s Globe and the British Library. She co-edited Family Politics in Early Modern Literature (2017) and authored Time and Gender on the Shakespearean Stage (2020). Lewis leads the Grasping Kairos research network, examining the concept of opportune moments across disciplines. She teaches early modern literature at all academic levels and contributes to initiatives like the CREATES Erasmus+ partnership. Her work bridges academic research with public engagement, including a globally impactful MOOC on Shakespeare.
