Farahnaz Karim-Cooper is a Professor and Head of Higher Education & Research at Shakespeare's Globe, collaborating with King's College London (KCL) on their MA in Shakespeare Studies since 2004. She chairs the Architecture Research Group, leading research on the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse design, and directed festivals like Shakespeare and Race (2018) and Woman and Power (2019). She serves as incoming Vice-President of the Shakespeare Association of America and chairs the Warburg Institute's Advisory Council, editing monograph series for Arden/Bloomsbury.
Her research focuses on Shakespeare’s works through lenses of race, gender, and performance history. Key projects include decolonizing Shakespearean interpretations and feminist stagings of early modern texts. She holds a PhD in English Literature from Royal Holloway, University of London (2003) and an MA in Milton Studies (1996).
Her publications explore Shakespearean pedagogy, performance history, and critical race theory. She has contributed to collaborative educational programs and scholarly editions of early modern plays. Her work aligns with UN SDG goals in Education and Gender Equality.
