Dr. Slobodan Davidović serves as a Senior Research Associate at the Department of Genetics of Populations and Ecogenotoxicology within the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković", an Institute of National Importance for the Republic of Serbia under the University of Belgrade.
His research spans population and conservation genetics with emphasis on genetic diversity, molecular markers, and endangered species. Dr. Davidović investigates biodiversity patterns, climate change impacts on genetic structures, and conservation strategies for vulnerable ecosystems.
His work demonstrates significant trends in population genetics research with practical applications for species conservation and environmental protection.
- Goran Ljubijankić foundation award for best graduation work in molecular biology (2010)
- Goran Ljubijankić foundation award for best Ph.D. thesis in molecular biology (2018)
- Stanka Romac foundation award for best Ph.D. thesis in human molecular biology (2019)
- Golden Bee Award of the Republic of Slovenia for pollinator research (2023)
Dr. Davidović has secured multiple research grants including the SERBHIWE project on honey bee populations as Principal Investigator. He maintains active international collaborations through the DrosEU network and participates in COST actions related to conservation biology. His work bridges fundamental genetic research with practical conservation applications, particularly for bee populations and other species vulnerable to environmental changes.
