Katarina Erić is a Researcher at the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" (IBISS), University of Belgrade, specializing in Population Genetics, Ecogenotoxicology, and related fields. She is actively involved in national and international projects, including collaborations with the DrosEU network and the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
Education:
- Doctoral studies (2015–present), Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade (Module: Genetics)
- Master's in Entomology (2013–2014), Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade
- Bachelor's in General Biology (2007–2013), Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade
Research Interests focus on understanding genomic variability, stress responses in populations, and conservation strategies. Her work integrates experimental evolution, environmental toxicology, and biodiversity studies to address anthropogenic impacts on genetic diversity.
Projects include:
- Dynamics of the gene pool and phenotypic variability in changing environments (Project 173012)
- Serbhiwe: Honey bee population genetics (Science Fund PROMIS, 2020–2022)
- Temegens: Transgenerational epigenetic effects in environmental stress
Professional Affiliations include the Society of Geneticists of Serbia, Entomological Society of Serbia, and European Society for Evolutionary Biology (ESEB).
