Simon Kay-Jones is a Lecturer and Professional Studies Coordinator for Architecture RIBA 3 and Degree Apprenticeships at the School of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University. He also serves as Research Manager for initiatives like Build4Climate and EU-funded projects such as ECACEE and Professional Development of Pedagogical Practices.
With over 25 years in architecture and education, he focuses on architectural pedagogy, sustainable design, and innovative learning environments. His work bridges practice and academia, emphasizing collaborative studio teaching and curriculum development across Europe and Asia.
Research interests include material assemblage in design, embodied carbon reduction in construction, and the interplay between physical/digital spaces. He is an award-winning architect and educator recognized for advancing architectural education globally.
He leads high-impact projects like Build4Climate (transition to zero embodied carbon construction) and ECACEE (Ecopreneurship in European environments), reflecting his commitment to sustainability and pedagogical innovation.
